Dr. Anastas Vangeli will deliver a virtual lecturer hosted by the Yenching Academy on China's role in the Balkans. The lecture will analyze the contemporary commercial and strategic relations between China and the Balkan region, which have undergone a significant transformation in the period after the global financial crisis, and are to be further reshaped by the COVID-19 pandemic. It will discuss both the Chinese initiatives in the Balkans and the local response, as well as the implications and responses of the EU and the US.
