The aim of the School is to work at the intersection between China’s long-term structural transformations in socio-political, economic and cultural terms, and those particularly salient trends that are currently informing international debates on China. Moroever, the two final days of the School will be dedicated to the ChinaMed research agenda with scholars from our partner institutions.

‍The ChinaMed Business Program offers a unique and intensive set of crash courses – for a total of 120+ hours of intensive training – designed to equip a high-power group of prospective managers and entrepreneurs with strategic skills in the areas of business internationalization, cross-cultural management and creative entrepreneurship, with a focus on China and the Euro-Mediterranean region.

How does China’s growing global role affect the current dynamics of the Mediterranean region? Scholars and experts from China and a number of Mediterranean countries will gather in Rome on October 28, 2019 to answer this question and present the findings of their work in ChinaMed Report 2019 - China’s New Role in the Wider Mediterranean Region.

The first edition of the "China and the Middle East/Mediterranean: Contemporary Perspectives" - Conference and Workshop is organized by the ChinaMed Research Program together with the Department of East Asian Studies and the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies of Tel Aviv University. The goals for this program are to establish long-term research networks, to exchange ideas and promote new research on how China views its engagement in the “Mid-Med,” and how the “Mid-Med” views China’s engagement in these regions, as well as on concrete activities and policies related to these reciprocal views. The participants include top scholars and experts from Europe, the United States, China, and the Middle East, as well as a small group of 20 selected graduate students with a background in international and regional studies (Middle East and Asia/China in particular).

The third ChinaMed Symposium "China's Role in the Balkans: Regional Perspectives" aims at shedding light on this complex situation through discussions with regional experts.

During the seminar organized by the Department of Culture, Politics and Society of the University of Torino, the Special Issue of CHINA & WORLD ECONOMY will be presented, with the participation of the T.wai researchers.
